Ulverston Parish - Distinctives
We belong firmly within the Anglican tradition, holding fast to the historical credal statements. We enjoy close fellowship with Christians from many Denominations who similarly uphold the Trinitarian Faith, authority of the Bible and the priority of evangelism.
What we stand for:
GOD HAS SPOKEN
In the Bible God has given us reliable teaching about himself and
about us. We need its truth.
THE CROSS OF CHRIST
Jesus died on the cross. As the hymnwriter so succinctly puts it:
"He died that we might be forgiven . . . ".
JESUS
IS LORD
God raised Jesus from the dead and declared him Lord. He will
return to judge us all.
BELIEVE
AND OBEY
We can find forgiveness only by trusting in Christ's death and
resurrection. Then we must follow him.
EMPOWERED
BY THE HOLY SPIRIT
We can do very little of any lasting effect in our own strength
but, through the power of the Holy Spirit whose presence with us is
the gift of God, we can do everything he commands .

THE WORD
As Christians we seek to make Jesus known to others. We want you
to know Christ's love.
IN
SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH
Jesus taught us how to worship. We aim for sincerity and
simplicity in our worship, not allowing the ritual to dominate but to
aid that sincerity.

MY SHEEP
The Bible is given to help us live for Christ. We have teaching
from it in all our meetings.
